The Belgrave Trust was founded by a group of individuals convinced that there was a better way to put the power of the burgeoning carbon offset marketplace in your hands. Using practices borrowed from the fields of statistical analysis and modern portfolio management, we offer a more efficient and more responsible way to live carbon neutral -- helping our members channel resources in real time to the places they'll have the greatest impact.
The average carbon footprint of an American is about 2,000 times the carbon footprint of an average citizen in the country of Chad. The average British person will emit as much carbon dioxide in a day as the average Kenyan emits in a year. Those of us in the developed world, and in the top 20% of the world's affluent comprise over 80% of the world's carbon emissions. In fact just the top 7 percent of the world’s wealthiest account for over half. Tackling global warming is a moral imperative, and must fall first to those with the greatest responsibility.
