Is it possible to refresh data in a grid or a panel automatically based on some kind of timer or a back-end (database) event? For example, if another user creates an order in ORDERS table, I want to see the record in my grid as soon as possible without a need to hit F5 and reload the application. |

Hi Ilia, Thank you for your question. First, let me tell you that you don't need to hit F5, you can put a refresh button to your application. This way you will notm lose the state of your application. A timer is currently implemented in the new version of Formspider which will come out late January or early February. One of our customers also needs database events to trigger updates to the screen. So we are designing a feature that will enable Pushing data to the application in the browser. I cannot exactly tell when this feature will be available because we just started designing it but it is possible that it will work in the new version too. Regards, Yalim |

Thanks, Yalim! I'm sure these new features will be of great demand for your customers. Looking forward to trying out the new version! |

Ilia, Today we upgraded Formspider Online. It now has the timer functionality along with other new features such as wizards in the IDE to quickly build grids and charts, calendar component and much cooler looking charts. If you want to try the new version out you may do so at http://www.formspideronline.com |

Yalim, Do you plan on including the new features in your jar distribution? It would be awesome! |
|
Hi Ilia, Yes, we are going to. We are going to test the features for a while online and then include them to the Jar as well. Originally, we were planning to do that late January early February. But I'll talk to the team. Maybe I can convince them to an early release. :-) |
